Pupa Description

Long and slender, pale brown, with the head produced into two projections.

Adults Description

Sexes dimorphic. Male-purple cast on forewing and hindwing inner margin. Female-reflective blue at bases of both wings; forewing has yellow submarginal band. Both sexes have pale brown underside.

Habits Description

Occurs from sea level to 1,200 m , in association with wet forest habitats. Encountered as rare, solitary individuals in deep shade, threading in and out of the vegetation. Most frequently found along riparian edges. Both sexes are easily baited with rotting bananas.
